Haunted Knights Driven by Dust and Ideals
Amplitude Studios has officially revealed The Last Lords, a new faction for Endless Legend 2, during a dedicated Faction Spotlight on June 26, 2025. This enigmatic group of haunted suits of armor sustains itself not through food or rest, but through the consumption of Dust — the mystical energy source central to the Endless universe.
Despite their ghostly nature, The Last Lords cling to their outdated chivalric codes, romanticizing their past lives of feudal honor. They remain obsessed with land ownership and noble titles, reframing their hunger for Dust and power as divine entitlement. This narrative positioning promises a rich roleplaying angle and unique gameplay mechanics for players choosing the faction.

Four Factions Revealed for Early Access
When Endless Legend 2 launches into early access for Windows PC on August 7, 2025, players will have access to four factions: The Last Lords, Kin of Sheredyn, the Aspects, and the returning Necrophages. The full release will expand the roster to six, although the remaining two factions have yet to be announced.
The sequel builds upon the original Endless Legend (2014) by introducing a world named Saiadha — a massive oceanic map affected by “Tidefalls,” natural events that lower ocean levels and open up new terrain. These world dynamics will play a significant role in exploration and territory control.
New Gameplay Mechanics and Victory Paths
Endless Legend 2 enhances its combat system, requiring players to manually issue orders and position units — a shift from the more automated battles of the original. This change aims to deepen tactical involvement and player agency during encounters.
Players can win the game in nine different ways, including traditional score and military victories, as well as seven distinct narrative-based win conditions. This diversity in endgame goals ensures replayability across different factions and playstyles.
Endless Legend 2 is shaping up to be a deep, lore-rich, and tactically engaging experience that honors its predecessor while expanding its strategic possibilities. With its early access date set, fans of 4X strategy games have much to look forward to this August.
