Mario & Standard Kart Now In Stock Nationwide
Lego’s first display model for adult fans of Mario Kart is now available at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Target. Originally a Walmart preorder exclusive, the Mario & Standard Kart set, priced at $170, officially launched across stores on July 1—just six weeks after its debut at the Lego Store on May 15. With 1,972 pieces, the display model showcases a highly detailed build of Mario in his iconic red kart, aimed at collectors and enthusiasts aged 18 and up.
Best Buy already sold out of its initial wave, partly due to the 10% discount offered to My Best Buy Plus/Total members. For those looking to grab the set in time for the long weekend, Amazon Prime members can still get fast delivery.

Designed for Display, Built for Fans
This seventh large-scale Nintendo set under Lego’s “black box” banner stands out for its attention to detail. The build features movable pedals, turning tires, and a functional steering wheel, along with a poseable Mario figure complete with jointed limbs. Though it doesn’t interact with the electronic Mario figures from other playsets, it serves as Lego’s most realistic depiction of modern Mario to date.
The set includes 17 numbered bags—nine dedicated to the kart and eight to Mario himself. Once assembled, the kart measures 12.5 inches long, 7.5 inches wide, and 8.5 inches tall with Mario in the driver’s seat. Builders can also place the finished kart on a display stand that mimics a drifting pose, perfect for any gaming or Lego display shelf.
More Mario Kart Sets Coming August 1
Lego has also announced five new Mario Kart playsets launching August 1, expanding the series that began in early 2025. Highlights include the Bowser’s Castle set (1,068 pieces for $100) and the Interactive Mario & Standard Kart set ($55), which features figure integration and sound effects. Budget-friendly builds like the Shy Guy & P-Wing ($20) and Toadette’s garage are also part of the upcoming wave.
With seven display and playsets currently available and more on the way, 2025 is shaping up to be a banner year for Lego and Mario Kart fans alike.
