Key Takeaways:
- Chance Perdomo’s character Andre remains central to Gen V Season 2 as a tribute following the actor’s tragic passing.
- The season connects directly to The Boys Season 4, with Homelander’s rise shaping events at Godolkin University.
- Viewers can expect emotional depth, big cameos, and a deeper exploration of Vought’s hidden agendas.
During San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Gen V showrunner Michele Fazekas confirmed that the second season of the The Boys spinoff was rewritten with one purpose above all — honoring late actor Chance Perdomo, who tragically died in a motorcycle accident on March 30, 2024, at just 27 years old.
Perdomo portrayed Andre Anderson, a fan-favorite Supe and core member of the show’s young ensemble. Instead of recasting his character, Fazekas and the creative team restructured Gen V Season 2 to preserve Andre’s narrative and cement his legacy throughout the show.
Fazekas: “It Was Always About Chance”
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Fazekas described the emotional weight behind the rewrites. “It was, in many ways, about Andre and about Chance,” she said. “We did it so long ago, and I remember how important it was to honor him.”
According to Fazekas, the late actor’s presence is deeply felt in every episode. “Even just watching the trailer … he exists throughout the entire season,” she added, expressing pride in how his storyline was handled.

Season 2 Plot Ties Directly Into The Boys
Following the bloody Season 1 finale, Gen V Season 2 takes place after The Boys Season 4. As revealed during SDCC, Homelander (Antony Starr) now controls America, and his iron rule will affect students and staff at Godolkin University.
The new trailer features Andre’s father, Polarity, seemingly driven by grief or revenge, uttering the line: “For Andre.” Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) returns to recruit Marie (Jaz Sinclair) to investigate Project Odessa, a secretive Vought initiative tied to the university’s dark history.
A War Between Humans and Supes Brews
Season 2 introduces Hamish Linklater as Godolkin’s mysterious new dean. While Cate and Sam are now celebrated “heroes,” Marie, Jordan, and Emma return to campus haunted by trauma and a nation on the verge of civil war.
As tensions rise, the trio uncovers a clandestine program that reaches back to the university’s founding — with Marie unknowingly central to its origins.
Streaming Details and What’s Next
Gen V Season 2 premieres on September 17 with its first three episodes on Prime Video, followed by weekly releases until October 22. The season is expected to “nicely tee up” The Boys Season 5, which marks the finale of the main series, according to creator Eric Kripke.
