PlayStation is giving fans a stunning new way to experience Ghost of Yōtei, the spiritual sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, with the announcement of two special edition PS5 bundles. Drawing on traditional Japanese artistry, these bundles are a celebration of the game’s visual identity and themes of exploration, artistry, and heritage.
Kintsugi-Inspired Gold Edition Available Globally
The Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition Bundle takes inspiration from kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics with gold lacquer. The PS5 console is adorned with a striking gold-veined design, centered around Mount Yōtei, symbolizing beauty in imperfection and the journey of restoration. This bundle includes a matching DualSense controller, also featuring gold detailing and character art of Atsu, the game’s new protagonist.
This Gold Edition will be available worldwide, giving players across the globe a chance to own a collector-grade console tied to one of 2025’s most anticipated PS5 exclusives.
Sumi-e Black Edition Offered via PlayStation Direct
In contrast, a Black Limited Edition inspired by sumi-e—the Japanese ink wash painting style—will be available exclusively through PlayStation Direct where the service is available, and in select retail stores elsewhere. This version features minimalist black brushstroke aesthetics, again spotlighting Atsu and Mount Yōtei.
Just like the Gold Edition, the black sumi-e bundle includes a themed DualSense controller, and both controller designs will be sold separately for players who already own a PS5.

Console Covers for PS5 and PS5 Pro Owners
For current owners of either the standard PS5 or the PS5 Pro, matching console covers will also be available. These will be sold via direct.playstation.com and select retailers in limited quantities. Whether fans want the reflective kintsugi-style finish or the bold sumi-e visuals, Sony is making sure existing users can personalize their setups.
Ghost of Yōtei Launches October 2
During a recent State of Play deep dive, Sucker Punch gave fans a 20-minute preview of new gameplay systems and visual upgrades in Ghost of Yōtei. The team also emphasized the deep creative inspiration behind the console designs.
“Our inspiration for this design came straight from one of the core aspects within the game: a deep focus on exploration,” said creative director Jason Connell. “Each of these elements were thoughtfully woven into both the console and controller designs.”
Ghost of Yōtei will officially release October 2, 2025, exclusively for PS5. A Collector’s Edition featuring a replica Ghost mask and full digital content was also announced earlier this year.
