At the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Bandai Namco officially pulled back the curtain on Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, a complete remake of the beloved 3D platformer originally released in 2002. The updated title is set to launch on September 26, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
This follows the successful release of Pac-Man World Re-Pac, a remake of the original Pac-Man World, and brings a host of modern enhancements to the classic sequel, including high-definition visuals, full voice acting, new collectibles, and for the first time ever in the series — 2-player couch co-op.
A Classic Reimagined for a New Generation
First released on PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox, Pac-Man World 2 was a fan-favorite platformer that expanded the franchise beyond the arcade maze roots. With Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, Bandai Namco is breathing new life into the game using a modern engine and refined mechanics.
According to the official overview, players will guide Pac-Man through six themed worlds — including icy peaks, lush meadows, and lava-filled volcanoes — to recover the stolen Golden Fruit and stop the villainous Spooky. The remake features not just a visual overhaul but refined platforming, better jump landing indicators, and customization features like collectible costumes.
Players who already own the first remake, Pac-Man World Re-Pac, will unlock an exclusive Toc-Man costume as a bonus when the sequel launches.
