Skyrim Fan Builds Massive LEGO Map Using 73,761 Bricks, Sets New World Record

A Monumental Tribute to a Legendary Game

Skyrim’s vast and richly detailed world has inspired countless fan creations over the years, but few come close to the sheer ambition of Ian Roosma’s latest project. The dedicated fan and Guinness World Record holder has recreated The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s entire map using a jaw-dropping 73,761 LEGO bricks. The build, which took three years to complete, stands as one of the most impressive fan tributes the franchise has ever seen.|

3 Years, 73,761 Bricks, and Nearly 300 Locations

Skyrim’s map spans nearly 15 square miles in-game and includes nine distinct regions, hundreds of landmarks, and diverse topography. Roosma’s LEGO version mirrors all of that in remarkable detail. Measuring 8 feet wide and 6.3 feet tall, the topographical model features 44 stacked layers of bricks, over 5,700 LEGO trees, and 292 hand-placed in-game locations, including cities, rivers, and mountain ranges.

“The challenge wasn’t just the scale,” Ian said. “It was about doing justice to the game’s terrain and iconic places.” He spent the first nine months planning the project and the remaining two and a half years constructing it layer by layer.

Breaking Records and Raising the Bar

This isn’t Roosma’s first foray into large-scale video game recreations. In 2021, he broke a Guinness World Record by building the largest LEGO map of a video game with his 25,000-brick recreation of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda. His Skyrim project, however, nearly triples that size and breaks his own previous record.

Fans have lauded the build on YouTube and social media, calling it one of the most ambitious Skyrim fan creations ever. While many are already asking what comes next, Roosma is taking a well-deserved break to enjoy The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, joking that it might be time to step away from LEGO—for now.
