Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – How to Unlock All 4 Endings

From brutal boss battles to hidden NPC questlines, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is built for replayability. With four unique endings — each with drastically different requirements — players are encouraged to dive deep into New Game Plus to uncover the full story. Whether you’re looking for the ‘True Ending’ or a quicker wrap-up on a second run, here’s your complete spoiler-heavy guide to unlocking all of them.

Dream’s Sweet Deceit – The True Ending

If you’re chasing Wuchang’s most rewarding and lore-rich finale, Dream’s Sweet Deceit is the path for you. This secret ending is considered the “True Ending” and is by far the most difficult to obtain, requiring a perfect orchestration of several NPC questlines and battles — including one of the toughest bosses in the game.

Steps to Unlock:

  • Complete He Youzai’s questline to acquire the Ring of Samsara – Cause.
  • Complete Fang Yao’s questline to earn the Ring of Samsara – Effect.
  • Finish the White-Robed Elder’s questline.
  • At the Mystery Gate in Bo Capital, choose “Wheel turns anew.”
  • Defeat the hidden boss Demon of Obsession.
  • Forge the Ring of Samsara – Rebirth in Chapter 5.
  • Defeat Feathery Ambition – Xuanyangzi.
  • At the Gate of Truth, select “Enter the Realm of Dreams.”
  • Important: Do not consume any of the Rings of Samsara during your run. Doing so will lock you out of this ending entirely.

This ending is best pursued in New Game Plus, where your upgraded stats and knowledge of questlines give you a fighting chance.

Bound by Fate’s Threads – The Good Ending

A more accessible yet still satisfying conclusion, Bound by Fate’s Threads offers a “good ending” alternative without the exhaustive prep of the True Ending. This route allows you to see a fulfilling narrative arc — especially if you missed out on the Dream’s Sweet Deceit path.

Steps to Unlock:

  • Defeat Perfect Bride – Fang Ling to obtain the Jade Ancient Chisel.
  • Either use the chisel yourself or refuse to give it to Xuanyangzi when he asks.
  • Make sure the Ring of Samsara – Rebirth is not in your inventory when defeating the final boss.
  • Defeat Feathery Ambition – Xuanyangzi.
  • At the Gate of Truth, select “Enter the Realm of Truth.”

This is a great first ending to aim for, especially if you’re holding off on the more demanding True Ending for a later playthrough.

Successor of the Bo – The Neutral Early Ending

If you’re looking to cut your adventure short and witness a more cryptic conclusion, the Successor of the Bo route is your go-to. This ending arrives much earlier in the game and results in your character assuming the mantle of Bo Magus — for better or worse.

Steps to Unlock:

  • Complete the Red-Clad Lady’s questline.
  • Agree with her final proposal at the Avian Dwelling Shrine (“I agree”).
  • At the Annalum Shrine, when the Storyteller offers help, select “Refuse to help” twice.
  • Defeat Bo Magus to trigger the ending immediately.

While this is considered a neutral and secret ending, it leaves many threads unresolved. Best saved for completionists after the major conclusions are out of the way.

Jarful of Medicine – The Bad Ending

The Jarful of Medicine is Wuchang’s most straightforward and bleakest ending. Though it doesn’t require many steps, this path offers unique lore twists and emotional payoff that still make it worth a run.

Steps to Unlock:

  • Defeat Perfect Bride – Fang Ling to get the Jade Ancient Chisel.
  • Give the chisel to Xuanyangzi when prompted at Worship’s Rise Ruins.
  • Defeat Feathery Ambition – Xuanyangzi.
  • At the Gate of Truth, choose “Enter the Stream of Samsara.”

Despite being the “bad” ending, it sheds light on darker elements of the story and offers unique insight into the game’s characters.

Why You Should Replay Wuchang

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is more than just a brutal action RPG — it’s a layered narrative experience. The four endings are not just cosmetic differences; they reveal new truths, characters, and implications with each path you take. Whether you’re trophy-hunting, lore-digging, or just love a challenge, diving into New Game Plus is practically a requirement for seeing all that this haunting world has to offer.

With more questline guides on the way, fans can expect deeper walkthroughs to help navigate the complex web of NPC interactions. Until then, tread carefully — and maybe don’t click on any rings until you’re absolutely sure what they do.
